Standard Features
  • Choice of Top Quality Commercial Grade Fabrics
Choose from a wide range of openness factors, colors, and textures. All of Romanzia shade fabrics are flame retardant.
  • Sewn Back Pleats - spaced about 8 inches apart.
  • Deluxe Front-Mounted Headrail System with Top Flap, Cord Guide Pulleys, and Cord Lock.
The standard Roman shade lift system consists of a 2" deep, front-mounted headrail with a cord lock and cord guide pulleys - all hidden by a top flap of matching fabric. Headrail ends are covered with matching fabric caps. Draw cords are color cordinated with the face fabric, finished with a wood tassel, and accessible from the front of the shade.
    About Top Flaps:
Shades have a 7" full loop top flap, Please note that top flaps are essentially a functional element - they are designed to cover the shades hardware system. A top flap can be expected to "flap out" when the shade is drawn up tightly beneath it. If a drawn shade needs to be more completely hidden, a separate valance shoud be planned.
  • Wing Nut Style Brackets for Easy Installation
Roman shades with our standard front-mounted hardware system or with our optional bead-chain lift system are mounted using wing-nut brackets. These winG-nut brackets are used for both inside and outside mounts.

    Available Options
  • Traditional Headrail
Shade is mounted off the front of a 1-1/2" deep headrail with cord lock, pulleys, and pull behind. No top flap. Roman shades ordered with a traditional, back mounted headrail are mounted using angle iron brackets for outside mounts and long screws for inside mounts.
  • Continous Loop Bead-Chain Lift System
Many customers choose our optional continous loop bead-chain lift system, which allows a shade to be raised and lowered by pulling a side-mounted bead-chain loop. Bead-chain lift systems can be mounted on the front of the shade behind a top flap or behind the shade. Standard bead-chain colors are nickel-plate and ivory. Ivory color chain will be furnished if nickel-plate is not specified.
  • End Flaps
Optional end flaps attach with hook and loop fasteners to the headrail ends and hang to the length of the top flap. End flaps are not attached to the top flap - the top flap remains free to flap out when shade is drawn up tight underneath. When ordered, end flaps replace standard end caps.
  • Custom Pleat Spacing
If you wish a shade to have back pleat spacing other than the standard 8" spacing shown, or if you wish shades of differing lengths to match fron the top down (shades usually match from the bottom up).
  • Bottom-Up / Top-Down Shades.
A special top hem may be lowered from under the stationary top flap - or the shade may be drawn up from the bottom like a standard shade.
  • Stationary Shades.

    Additional Information
  • Stacking
When drawn, the vertical stack of a roman shade is between 9" and 12" depending on the length of the shade an the thickness of the fabric. Also note that a shade stacks out as well as up. The depth of a shade stack is between 3" and 6" depending on the length of the shade and the thickness of the fabric.
  • Cleaning
When needed, Romanzia shades may be cleaned as they hang in place. Use a brush or vacuum. Mild soap and water may be used to clean Sheerweave and Triglas vinyl-coated fabrics.
  • Pinpricks of Light
On shades made with RocRol blackout shadecloth, pinpricks of light may show where the horizontal pleats are sewn.
  • Measuring Notes
When measuring and ordering, please specify the shade width and window height to the nearest 1/8". Also note whether the shade is to be mounted inside the window casing or outside the window casing. When an inside mount is specified, our workroom will make the proper clearance deductions. When an outside mount is specified, the shade will be made to the exact width and length ordered.
