Shipping Customer’s Fabric & Trim to Romanzia
To determine how much fabric to send, please use the Fabric Yardage Guide for the product you are ordering. Fabric should always be shipped on a roll to avoid wrinkling. Fabric that is received folded or wrinkled will be subject to a pressing charge. Please be sure that our workroom can match your fabric to your order by carefully describing your fabric on the order form and clearly identifying your fabric package when it is shipped.

Ship to:
Romanzia, 658 25th Street. Chetek, WI 54728

If you ship by U.S. Mail, be sure to include
P.O. Box 72 on the address label.

Romanzia inspects customer’s fabric upon arrival as a courtesy. We do our best to inform our customers of any printing flaws or fabric defects. Romanzia, however, does not assume responsibility for printing flaws, dye lot match, or other defects in customer’s fabric.

Return of Customer’s Extra Fabric
Romanzia will return extra fabric only if it is requested. Only full width pieces will be returned. Selvage scraps will not be returned.

Suitability of Customer’s Fabric
While almost any fabric can be used to make roller shades, very thin or very thick fabrics may not be suitable. Also, certain embroidered, quilted, or multi-layer fabrics may not be suitable.

Embroidered patterns often have long patches of skipped-stitch threads on the back of the fabric. When we fuse our lining to the back of this type of fabric, the lining sticks to the skipped-stitch threads in some places and to the back of the surface fabric in others - resulting in what appears to be bubbling or puckering in the face of the shade. Quilted and other multi-layer fabrics may produce the same bubbling or puckering effects.

If you have a question about the suitability of your fabric, please send us a sample and we’ll fuse it to our lining material as a test for your approval.

Edge Curling
All roller shades are susceptible to some degree of edge curling. Edge curling can be caused by variations in temperature or humidity between the window and the room. We have selected shade lining materials that are soft and stable in order to minimize edge curling. We cannot, however, guarantee that your shades will not show some degree of curling.

Customer’s Fabric Pattern Matching
When making multiple shades using a patterned fabric, Romanzia will always match the pattern starting from the bottom hem.

Pressing Charges
Customer’s fabric that is received folded or wrinkled will be subject to a pressing charge. To avoid wrinkling, always ship fabric on a roll.

Colored Lining
Roc-lon DenimTone blackout linings are available from Romanzia and can be substituted for Romanzia’s standard fused white lining on shades up to 54” wide. Add 10% to price of shade. See Romanzia Linings sample card.

Flame Retardant Lining
Please note that any fabric or trim supplied by the customer must already be flame retardant for the finished shades to be flame retardant. Romanzia does not provide flameproofing service for fabrics, trim, or finished shades. Romanzia makes no claims as to the fire retardancy of its products other than passing through the flame retardancy certifications of the linings that are used.

Railroading Customer’s Fabric
In some cases, it may be advantageous to “railroad” a customer’s fabric - to run the fabric horizontally across the face of the shade. This procedure may be used to produce shades that are wider than our price chart allows, so call for pricing and yardage estimation.

For customer’s fabric shades - use a brush, vacuum, or dry cleaning process (if recommended by the face fabric manufacturer).

Using Bed Sheets
Bed sheets can be successfully used to make Romanzia Roller Shades. Please supply only flat sheets. Folded sheets will be subject to a pressing charge.

A Note About Using Translucent Lining
When using translucent lining to make customer’s fabric shades, decorative fabric patterns may be visible from the outside at night if lights are on inside

Stationary Panels
Flat Panels of shade fabric are fastened to a wood headrail. Bottom hem is turned with a hidden hem bar and hangs free. Deduct 10% from the standard shade price. Hook and Loop attachment is optional - add $5 per foot of width for hook and loop attachment.

Shade Topper Valances.
Shade Toppers are designed for use with Romanzia Roller Shades and are available in the same variety of hem styles pictured for shade hems. They feature our unique heat fused lining process for a neatly tailored appearance. Shade Toppers attach to a mounting board (included) with hook and loop fasteners. See Topper Price List. Shade toppers should be ordered with a face width at least 1/2" wider than the bracket to bracket width of the shade they cover.

Window Covering Cord Safety Alert

  • Young children can STRANGLE in cord and bead chain loops. They can also wrap cords and bead chains around their necks and STRANGLE.
  • Always keep cords and bead chain loops out of children's reach.
  • Move cribs, playpens, and other furniture away from cords and bead chains. Children can climb furniture to get to cords and bead chain loops.
  • Attach bead chain loop tension devise to window casing, wall or floor. This can prevent children from pulling cords and bead chains around their necks. Fasteners provided with the tension devise may not be appropriate for all mounting surfaces. Use appropriate anchors for the mounting surface conditions.

Please be aware that bead chain control loops present a strangulation hazard, particularly to young children.

To address this important issue, the window covering industry has adapted the American National Standard for Safety of Corded Window Covering Products. The latest version of that Standard, ANSI/WCMA A100.1-2014, is now in effect.

Romanzia has always taken product safety seriously and we have always done our best to meet or exceed all Industry Safety Standards including product testing, product labeling and tagging, product education, and the use of accessories like bead chain tension devises that are compliant to the Standard.

All Romanzia products that are made to be operated with a bead chain control loop are packaged with a tension devise that is compliant with the latest American National Standard for Safety of Corded Window Covering Products. Before any product with a bead chain control loop is shipped, a tension devise is attached to the bead chain in such a way that "unless properly installed or altered from the shipped condition with a sequential process or tools, it prevents the window covering from operating".

When the product is installed, the tension devise MUST be properly installed in order to mitigate the strangulation hazard. If the product is installed by a window covering professional or anyone other than the end user, all warning tags and product warning labels MUST remain on the product for the end-user to read and understand.

For complete safety, parents and caregivers should consider cordless window coverings alternatives like our Spring Roller Shades, Romatech Cordless Shades, Motorized Shades, or Panel Track Shades.
